Top Tips for Students

How to create a positive environment to learn at home:

  •  Distinguish between weekdays and weekends, to separate school life and home life. This means making sure you treat Saturdays and Sundays differently to weekdays!
  •  Designate a working space if possible, and at the end of the day have a clear cut-off  time to signal school time is over.
  •  Create and stick to a routine. For example, eat breakfast at the same time each morning and make sure you have a wash and get dressed before starting the ‘school’ day.
  • Stick a timetable up on the wall so you know what you should be doing when, and tick activities off throughout the day.
  •  Make time for exercise and breaks throughout the day to keep active. Go for walk, cycle or run. Chat to friends and family. Maintain a healthy lifestyle.
  • Praise and reward. When you've worked hard tell whoever is at home. They'll be pleased and will tell you so. Make sure you submit your best work. Staff will be awarding ePraise points.
  • Ask for help if you need it! Please contact your Form tutor or classroom teacher via Google classroom or email  if anything is unclear. We are here to support, despite not being physically present.
  • Ensure work is completed. Use your timetable to complete all your work. Try not to leave it to the last minute.
